New Pricing to Launch at the end of September

First and foremost, we’d like to thank you for your constructive feedback, which we've taken into consideration while fine-tuning our evolving pricing model. We recognize that the strength of our program relies upon the successes of our publishers, and have committed to doing whatever we can to continually improve the overall experience of working with our program. That said, we wanted to share with you the overall components of our new pricing model, and we plan to follow up on our next blog post with more specifics of the pricing program. END OF SEPTEMBER LAUNCH PLANNED

The new pricing model will officially launch program-wide at the end of September. As first shared in past blog posts, we will continue to compensate you competitively for the traffic that you send us, but we will also include an incentive to help eBay expand its customer base.

Since we embarked upon this journey, we have heard one thing loud and clear: in order to optimize with ePN, you need transparency and insight. We took this need into account as we set out to simplify our model, while clarifying the levers you can pull to succeed.

On a publisher-by-publisher level, we have seen that category is key in driving high-value traffic. Because of this, the base-level program pricing will be expressed through a set of category-level commission rates. We think that this change will help you meet your individual goals, as pricing will be competitively driven.

The new pricing will add a meaningful bonus for driving transactions from new and reactivated buyers to eBay. Publishers who put forth the additional ingenuity, insight and effort to attract new and reactivated buyers will be compensated commensurately.

Our updated pricing will modify the way we currently track both “Buy It Now” and “Bid” items. For a “Buy It Now” item, you will be compensated if a user makes a purchase within 24 hours. For “Bid” items where a bid (not necessarily the Winning Bid) is placed within 24 hours of the initial click, we will extend the period in which you are credited for winning auctions from seven to 10 days, which is the maximum length that an auction can last.

As a means to provide you with additional insight, we've enhanced the Transaction Download Report. In addition to the user frequency information that has already been added, you’ll now see earnings on all transactions, allowing you to optimize more effectively.

Many of you have already started to combine the insights from the Transaction Download Report with existing reporting data, tools, widgets, content strategy and campaigns to determine optimal ways to drive new and reactivated buyers. In the coming weeks, we’ll share additional tips, data and best practices that you can use to help optimize this new pricing model.

We recognize that some of these changes are significant, which is why we are committed to providing improved transparency and guidance as we move forward in offering more competitive compensation for the overall network. Our primary goal has always been to constantly improve the quality of traffic driven to eBay, and this new pricing structure will help everyone evolve to the next level.

We appreciate your support and look forward to our continued partnership. Please let us know if you have any questions, and stay tuned for more information over the coming weeks.

Thank you for your continued partnership in our program.
